What's included in the free trial, and what happens when it ends?

The trial gives you time-limited access to evaluate Scandit’s barcode and ID scanning capabilities in your own app and workflows. You get instant access to all products and features (with the exception of ID Validate, for which you need to request access). When the trial ends, your trial license will expire and scanning stops until you switch to a production license.

Does the trial require an internet connection? Can we scan offline in production?

Trial licenses require an internet connection during scanning. If this limits your ability to evaluate our technology, contact our support team. Production licenses don’t require continuous connectivity, enabling offline workflows in real deployments.

Which platforms and frameworks do you support (iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, web, etc.)?

Scandit supports all major native and cross-platform frameworks and programming languages, including Native iOS, Native Android, Javascript, Cordova, Xamarin, .NET, React Native, Flutter, Capacitor, Titanium, and Linux/C.

Which barcode types (symbologies) are supported?

Scandit reads 25+ of the most common symbologies. Unless the barcode you wish to scan is highly specialized, it's likely that we support it. For a detailed list refer to our Supported Symbologies documentation page.

Which identity document formats are supported?

We support over 2,500 documents worldwide by capturing data from a variety of different sources on IDs, including PDF417 barcodes, Machine Readable Zones (MRZ), Visual Inspection Zones (VIZ) and identity photos. Scandit supports not just current but older versions of IDs – important, because an ID can be valid for up to 10 years. See the full list of supported documents .

Will Scandit work on our devices (including rugged/enterprise devices)?

Scandit software runs on almost any smart device, including smartphones, handheld computers, tablets, wearables, fixed cameras, drones, and robots.

What data do you collect? Does scanning run on-device?

Scanning and image processing run on-device by default. Scandit doesn’t collect scan data unless you explicitly enable it.

What implementation support do we get during evaluation (solution engineering, SLAs, support plans), and what’s the path if we get stuck?

How does pricing and licensing work when we're ready for production?

Scandit offers both fixed and flexible pricing. Choose between predictable, consistent costs, or only paying for the devices/scans you need. Costs depend on the products you choose, your deployment scale, and support plan. Moving to production typically means replacing the trial key with a production license (no app rewrite).
