If they are clearly over the threshold the checkout continues; if not, they scan an ID to confirm with photo comparison technology checking the ID photo with the selfie to prevent ID fraud.

How is the customer's personal data protected?

All face and ID processing happens entirely on the shopper's device. No biometric or ID data is transmitted or stored by Scandit or the retailer. The solution is built to GDPR, ISO/IEC 27566-1, and UKAS Challenge 25 standards.

How does it stop someone using another person's ID?
